//If my heart is overwhelmed and I cannot hear Your voice I’ll hold on to what is true though I cannot see//
Okay, I’ll admit it – my heart frequently becomes overwhelmed. As I described in the previous blog about my over-analyzing personality, it’s easy to see how I can become overwhelmed; how the voices I hear everyday on this fallen earth may become louder than His.
The difference is made in step 2.
Get it?
Step 1: PANIC. OVERWHELMED HEART. DRASTIC ACTION. RASH DECISIONS.
Step 2: Calm Down. I will hold onto the truths and promises that I know. I will have faith (read verse below) and trust, rather than doubt.
Hebrews 11:1- “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” (NLT)
This definition of faith reads well with a wonderful verse, only a chapter back:
Hebrews 10:23 – “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” (NIV)
So.
WHEN my heart, again, becomes overwhelmed, I will hold on to that hope, because He is faithful.
